Professor Sara Rosengren will give a talk on ‘Conceptualizing Consumer-Based Brand Sustainability’
Sara Rosengren is Professor of Business Administration (Marketing) and holder of the Ica Retailers’ Chair in Business Administration, especially Retailing. She is also Head of Center for Retailing (CFR) and President of the European Advertising Academy. Rosengren’s research deals with consumer behavior, marketing communications, and retailing. All three are currently undergoing major transformations due to digitalization. Her research has been published in leading academic journals such as the Journal of Advertising, Journal of Advertising Research, Journal of Business Research, and Journal of Marketing. She is frequently invited to speak at academic institutions, industry seminars, and company get-togethers.
Professor Ken Peattie, keynote speaker at ICSR2022
Professor Ken Peattie will give a talk titled ‘A New Role for Sustainable Businesses: Combatants in the Culture War’.
Ken is Head of the Marketing and Strategy Section at Cardiff Business School and has spent more than 30 years researching and writing in the field of business sustainability. He spent 12 of those years as Director of the ESRC-funded BRASS Research Centre based at Cardiff, which specialised in interdisciplinary research into business sustainability and corporate social responsibility. Before working as an academic he worked in marketing and strategic planning in an American paper multinational and a UK electronics company.
His research interests focus on the impact of sustainability on marketing and corporate strategy making; social marketing for healthy and sustainable lifestyles; social enterprise and CSR. He has published three books and numerous book chapters on these topics, and has published in journals including Journal of World Business, California Management Review, Journal of Business Research, Journal of Marketing Management, Public Policy & Marketing, and Business Strategy & the Environment.
Professor Tom Cooney keynote speaker at ICSR 2022
Professor Tom Cooney will be a keynote speaker at the ICSR conference at MidSweden University in Östersund. Tom is Professor of Entrepreneurship at the Technological University Dublin, Director of the Institute for Minority Entrepreneurship and Adjunct Professor at the University of Turku (Finland). He is a former President of the International Council for Small Business (2012-13) and of the European Council for Small Business (2009-11), and he was Chair of the ICSB 2014 World Entrepreneurship Conference. He is a policy advisor to Governments, European Commission, OECD, and other international organisations. He is a Director of four enterprises and works in various capacities with a range of businesses. He has published 11 books and presented widely on the topic of entrepreneurship, particularly related to minority, disadvantaged and marginalized communities. Tom Cooney will do a digital speech at ICSR2022 with the title “Entrepreneurship, Inclusivity and Sustainability: Ensuring that Everyone can Maximise their Economic and Social Potential”.
Co-founder of Dinadi, Mirjam Thiessen, keynote at ICSR 2022
Mirjam Thiessen is the co-founder of Dinadi. Dinadi is an ethical knitwear brand founded 2016 in Kathmandu, Nepal. Dinadi’s approach to fashion is to design both consciously and with integrity.
Convinced that social entrepreneurship is the way to fuel sustainable development, Dinadi owns and operates a production facility in Nepal. By directly employing knitters, many of whom knit by hand from their homes, Dinadi is able to maximize social impact and transparency.
Professor David Audretsch- keynote at ICSR 2022
Professor David Audretsch will be keynote speaker at ICSR 2022. His topic of his talk is ”Entrepreneurship and Societal Stability: Creative Destruction or Creative Construction?”.
The keynote focuses on stability as a societal value and under what conditions entrepreneurship enhances societal stability and under what conditions entrepreneurship detracts for societal stability.
David Audretsch is a Distinguished Professor and the Ameritech Chair of Economic Development at Indiana University, where he also serves as Director of the Institute for Development Strategies. He is an Honorary Professor of Industrial Economics and Entrepreneurship at the WHU-Otto Beisheim School of Management in Germanyand a part-time professor of entrepreneurship at the University of Klagenfurt in Austria.
Audretsch’s research has focused on the links between entrepreneurship, government policy, innovation, economic development, and global competitiveness. He is co-author of The Seven Secrets of Germany, published by Oxford University Press. He is co-founder and Editor-in-Chief of Small Business Economics: An Entrepreneurship Journal. He was recognized as a 2021 Clarivate Citation Laureate and awarded the Global Award for Entrepreneurship Research by the Swedish Entrepreneurship Forum. He has received honorary doctorate degrees from the University of Augsburg in Germany, Jonköping University in Sweden, and the University of Siegen in Germany. Audretsch was also awarded the Schumpeter Prize from the University of Wuppertal in Germany. More about David’s work is available here.
The 9th ICSR conference will take place in September 2022 – Call for papers
The 9th ICSR conference will take place at Mid Sweden University, Östersund, Sweden on the 15 and 16 September 2022.
The conference is organized as a hybrid conference where you can participate on site or online.
Theme: Creating New Roles for a Sustainable Economy
Sensitivity to social responsibility, and ideas, agendas, principles, practices and arrangements of sustainability are areas that require creating new roles and entrepreneurial approaches.
In this conference, we want to address emerging roles of existing businesses, markets, approaches, and practices for a sustainable economy. What new roles are existing businesses adopting in their practices in social responsibility and sustainability? How does the integration of sustainability and corporate social responsibility strategies and practices change the ways in which organizations operate? What types of markets are emerging for sustainable businesses? What is the role of social enterprises and non-profit organizations in shaping new roles and markets for a sustainable economy?
We invite contributions that addresses these questions.
We welcome abstracts that include current research combining theoretical foundations on businesses and corporate responsibility and practical insights that will create new role for a sustainable economy. Below is an indicative (but not exclusive) list of possible submission topics:

Submission of abstracts
Applicants should submit an abstract of 300 words in a Word document format via email to Dr Georgiana Grigore at georgiana.grigore@csrconferences.org by 15th of May 2022.
Please add the following information : (i) full title, (ii) all author names, (iii) affiliations of each author , (iv) abstract of the paper, (v) 3-6 keywords of the paper, and (vi) acknowledgements or disclosure notices (if any). Up to two submissions will be considered per author. Only the abstracts will be published in the conference proceedings.
Following the conference, attendees will be invited to submit a full paper to be selected to an edited collection with ‘Palgrave Studies in Governance, Leadership and Responsibility’. Further information will be provided regarding the full paper submission.
